Help with thick hair. Styling tips please!?

I'm 18 male. I have really thick, straight hair. I'm trying to grow it out from a faux hawk style, however I'm sort of in hair limbo right now. Its much to heavy and long to spike up, but not long enough to wear down (major cowlicks) my hair looks awful right now! I really need suggestions on how I can style my hair So that it looks presentable., while i attempt to grow it out. Please, any suggestions! Im embarassed to go out with my hair this bad!

What are the steps to styling scene hair?

I have the right cut, (short layers at the top, and long hair past the shoulders)

But i am clueless on how to get the poof at the top, I know you use Hair-spray. But how much?? And where??

What are the steps to styling scene hair?

Short Hair

1. Get some choppy layers cut into your hair. If it is curly, think about having it straightened! Getting it razored can also look very scene too.

2. Dye your hair black with streaks of other colors, such as bright pink or electric blue. As an alternative, you can keep your natural hair color and get some lowlights/highlights that complement your hairstyle. The most common hairstyle in the scene is either straight black, or blond with black underneath.

3. Grow out your fringe and pin it to the side with Kirby grips or bow clips during the process.

4. Mess up the back with a little hair serum or, if you want a more boyish look, use gel to get a wet look. You might put some porcupine spikes in the back, as a suggestion.

* Remember to lather, rinse, and repeat in the shower to get rid of all that gel!

5. Get extensions if you'd prefer to have long scene hair.

Mid-Length Hair

1. Layer your hair and get it razored. Brown or black with another color in the fringe or back looks great. Blonde with pink streaks in can also be very fetching.

2. Use hairspray, and stay away from hair gel. Serum is okay, but use it in moderation. Use bow clips, ribbons -- whatever suits you.

* Remember to have it poofed! In other words, you'll be using lots of hairspray, and maybe a little backcombing.

* Keep in mind that you'll be straightening your hair. Use a hot oil or similar hair treatment weekly, such as Aussie 3 minute miracle, to reduce damage from all the hairspray, straightening, and combing.

3. Use conditioner every time that you wash your hair.

4. Use heat protecting serums when you straighten!

Long Hair

1. Trim your split ends at least every six weeks. This will help to maintain a healthy look. Long hair is very easy to make scene, although it needs lots of TLC.

2. Use conditioner and shampoo tailored for your hair type. If you straighten/curl, use proper protection.Super Star by Bed Head is the best for volumizing your hair.put some in your wet hair and then blowdry, while blow drying push your shorter layers up and spritz a little bit of some Super Star hair spray to make your root stand up higher and finishing blow drying.

3. Brush your hair daily. Also comb gently to get rid of dead hairs. If you are considering getting it cut, get it razored and layer it.

4. Dye your hair peroxide blonde with the fringes black or brown. This combination looks great on long hair.

5. Accessorize! Kirby grips, bobby pins, bows, and ribbons look hot!

What are the steps to styling scene hair?

check out this website!

http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Emo-Hair

it has a lot of cool facts.

What are the steps to styling scene hair?

I always back comb.

Like around the roots.

Spraying hairspray at your roots helps give you volume, and blow dry your hair up side down.

Then straighten the bottom parts and any longer parts in the front, just don't to the top "poof".

*Make sure you take good care of your hair, and keep it kept up.

Hope this helps

You can always check out youtube for tutorials.

OR

Youse bedhead manipulator its much better.

then when you get the the way you want it\

spray it down with hair spray.

a few coats..

ALso

having oily or texture hair helps.

use some products liek volumizers and stuff that adds texture.

surtain bedhead products.

and go to bed when you wake up itll be messy

Back combing IS the best way i think..

hold a strand out and then push the comb down it towars your hand this takes work.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

are there any hair stylists out there, that can help me choose a hair style? I am 67, blond hair, 5`5", 145 lbs. I want a stylish cut, without trying to look like a teenager. I like to have a side bang, but other than that, I don`t know. I have a diamond shaped face. I have been wearing my hair with a cut out ear, etc I am hoping you guys out there can give me several ideas, as I guess I am getting tired of my regular cut. I think I look best with my hair away from my face. Any ideas for me short of plastic surgery??Thanks in advance

Right hair style for woman over 60?

I admire you for your willingness to change. It's so easy to get stuck in a rut! I think a hairstylist could really help you choose something fresh that doesn't look too young. Next time you're in for a cut, ask your stylist for some ideas.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

Yes do something completely different.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

Go to the salon, and ask for a side swept bang, with a slight flip out at the back. Have them introduce some choppy layers up top and in the back, and more wispy layers as they get nearer to your face. Meanwhile, ask them to give you a blow out. Curled hair just doesn't look right. And, of course, remember Ms Exeter's (divine expert at Vogue) advice for women over 50: avoid long hair; it makes the whole face seem more saggy and droopy. So long as you're not asking the hair stylist to experiment, you should be fine.

Oh! And if you're scared to try a drastic new cut, consider getting your hair highlighted. Sometimes it's fun just to mix it up a bit with colours, which can add the illusion of different textures in your current cut, or accentuate the ones that you already have. You've made it this far, so why not have some fun!?

Right hair style for woman over 60?

Go to stellure.com at this website you can look at many different hairstyles and even upload pictures of yourself and change the hairstyle on them.

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

i want to have more options when i style my hair in the morning. does anyone have any suggestions?

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

you can get out of the shower and just scrunch your hair while using gel. you can maybe put a little clip in the front with a section of your hair. minimize frizz, and it will look so good.

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

For curly hair up-dos can be great just play in the mirror, you can also straighten your hair out with ceramic irons.

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

I have curly hair too and the only thing i do to my hair is wear it loose or in a pony tail. I need some styling ideas too閳?br>Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

Well i have naturally curly hair so i have to have hair styles ok so when your just goin out or somthin just curl it and throw it in a pony tail with some on the side, if your going some where special were some of your hair in a clip and the rest down you know theres lots of styles specially these days like how they make their hair messy that is cute try it

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

I don't have a styling suggestion, but have a product suggestion.

I have had MAJORLY curly hair my whole life, which was a pain in the *** coming from a household of straighthaired people who tried to brush my hair straight! _OUCH_

ANyways, while mousse, and gel are great... about twice a week I put a tablespoon of straight vitamin E oil in my hair. I rub the oil in my palms and run my hands thru my damp hair with my head flipped upside down. I allow my hair to air dry... just be sure to not get too much oil near your scalp if you plan on going out for the day- we don't wanna look greasy! It gives your hair weightless curls that are so shiney! I have used this method on my friend's hair too- and it helps prevent wind damage and breakage!

If it makes a difference my hair is not overly course, but very curly and actually though there is a lot of it is fine, so the amount of oil used for your hair may need to very... start with less and work your way up!

Does anyone have any styling ideas for curly hair?

do you know how some people play with their hair and twirl it around their fingers? If you do that as you blow dry it..it'll make the curls look more uniform and spiral instead of a helemt of fuzz...using a diffuser on the dryer is better because it spreads out the air but its still hot enough to do something....the cooler settings dont do anything but waste my time...use a lil smoothing cream if your roots give you any trouble...too shine it up use a very very very lil bit of baby oil....dont use this at the roots(it'll just look dirty)...start at the bottom
